Greetings one and all, this week sees the start of a very busy month for us. We have a series of fantastic gigs coming up starting tonight at The Bridge Hotel in Newcastle, when we will be playing with our friends & family Gabriel (David English Band), Lesley Rowlie & Simpleswan, amongst others.
Next Tuesday we are playing Trillians with Scottish band, and Marmaduke Duke / Biffy Clyro affiliates, Sucioperro! This promises to be a cracking night!
Later in the month we are also putting in an appearance at the ‘Glastonburyed’ Music festival at Newcastle University. For tickets go here: www.glastonburyed.com.
Performing with us at all of these gigs will be our new bass/keyboard/whatever-else-he-can-get-his-hands-on-player Mr. John Pope, who we whole-heartedly welcome to the band.
Finally, we have been sending off our song ‘Waitress’ (digitally released last month) completely unsolicited to a wide variety of radio stations (we like to do these things old school, folks). So we are hoping to get some airplay (if we haven’t already?), also sometime over the next month we will be a www.radionowhere.org ‘Band of the Week’, listen out for our jingles, which we had a whole lot of fun creating (aping – the ‘Bob Dylan Radio Hour’?… surely not ; )
We wish you all very well.

Hi folks, just a quick note to say that our gig for this Friday (the 13th) has been cancelled… Friday the 13th, hmm coincidence said he, stroking his hairy chin. Not too worry tonight at the Head of Steam is happening still and Ben will be playing at Fatcats in Newcastle, Haymarket next Tuesday. Splendid.

Hi Folks, this week sees the digital release of our debut record the 5 track ‘Ascendez Vous’. It is available from a variety of stores.
“’Time’ and ‘Waitress’ both have an uplifting quality about them and there is an overwhelming sense of optimism about the whole CD.… ‘Ascendez-Vous’ then, a collection of 5 classic songs expertly committed to CD.”
Tasty Fanzine
It is also available from these other following stores:
Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, GroupieTunes, Lala, Shockhound, Amie Street
You can download the individual songs from Is Shepherd’s debut CD Ascendez Vous now from Amazing Tunes. www.amazingtunes.com/users/shepherd
Here are just some reviews for ‘Ascendez Vous’:
“Is Shepherd are a 5-piece from the North-East who have produced some fine tunes on this, their debut recording. In two years they have been together they have grown from a three to a five piece band, and play a disarming blend of melodic rock songs, with some electronic and slightly experimental elements thrown in. Their style is never easy to nail down, as on the five tracks on this release, they run through a whole range of sounds. The production is excellent, never more so than on the killer track, Stretcher Bearer, which is saved for the final cut. A very promising debut indeed.” Sandman Magazine

“Is Shepherd are one of those bands who are familiar, and yet completely new all on their own… Waitess is a brilliantly accessible song, and could easily be one of the “I-recognise-that-it’s-off-an-advert” tunes which start off as an underground hit but six months later if you haven’t heard it, your friends no longer know you.” Pennyblackmusic.com
“Is Shepherd demonstrate with the five tracks on their debut, ‘Ascendez-Vous’, that they have firm ideas about what they want to be, and how they want to present themselves. Self-releasing your music is not usually a guarantee of polish, either in production or packaging, but Is Shepherd deliver a set of songs that don’t lack for depth and interest in their execution, or, for what it’s worth, a solid, charming aesthetic in their CD sleeve.” Badrobot.co.uk
